COMPETITIVE GYMNASTICS

Affinity Gymnastics Academy has a strong competitive programme with coaches dedicated to providing an environment that fosters gymnasts passion for gymnastics and enables each gymnast to reach their full potential.

All competitive programmes are year long and gymnasts are encouraged and expected to compete at competitions during the year.

Selection into our competitive programmes is by invitation only following an assessment.

We are always looking for new competitive gymnasts; if your child shows potential or talent and they appear to have the appropriate mental and physical attributes to be a competitive gymnast please make contact with our office by emailing admin@affinitygymnastics.co.nz.

WOMEN'S ARTISTIC GYMNASTICS (WAG)

The STEPs program is Gymnastics New Zealand's national women's artistic program. STEP encourages gymnasts to Strive Towards Excellence in Performance. There are 10 STEPs from beginners to high level gymnasts and, while most gymnasts may not reach STEP 10, it is hoped they will progress to a level at which they can fulfil their dreams as gymnasts.

MEN'S ARTISTIC GYMNASTICS (MAG)

The Levels program is Gymnastics New Zealand's national men's artistic program. It gives gymnasts the opportunity to improve their gymnastic ability and challenge themselves by learning new skills and competing at various competitions regionally and throughout New Zealand.

REGIONAL COMPETITIVE GYMNASTICS

Regional competitive gymnastics offers a structured programme that provides an opportunity for gymnasts who are keen to develop routines and participate in interclub and regional competitions.
